If you want a faster, better performing stryker, then upgrading from nimh to lipo and using the lipo prop which came with the stryker b not forgetting that you also need lipo charger will be a very cost effective solution.
Parkzone can help you with that. Just call them up and be very clear with them about what it is you want to do. I'm sure their number is in your instruction manual for the stryker b or you can try horizonhobby.com.
If they are selling you one of their lipos and charger the connector plugs may be different from the ones on your plane so bear that in mind and remind them of it aswell.
and as I said before get extra motors be sure to break them in right when you do too. (I recently had my first brushed motor burn out on me. not very pleasant. Smells bad gets massively hot and smokes too, not pretty.)
But
if you want the best performance and flight time then the stryker C is your best bet.. better than trying to build it your self.. especially if you have never done something like this before.
Trust me its a load less of a headache and easier on your pockets than doing it your self with the version b man so just get the version C and save your self money time and headaches..
A word of caution though, the stryker c is a very high performance plane (in my opin). Be very careful with it and I would suggest you buy it when and only when you are very proficient with the stryker b
The whole reason people began modifing the stryker b is because at the time of its release there was no version C (obviously) so there was no high performance stryker at all.
People were happy with the plane but as usual there are some people out there (I'm one of them hehe) who like working with their hands and wondered what was possible with the stryker and so they decided to push the envelope and get the max performance out of the model as they could.
(They are actually still at it even now!).
Thats why that thread was born ["F-27 how far can you take it"]...
If you look throught that thread you will find that some people have done some amazing things with their strykers.. some have even included landing gears on them even pontoons for water landings and take offs its just increadible!
It was because of all of their hard work that I think parkzone came up with a revision of the stryker and the version C was the result.
Basically they took out all of the guess work and came up with the best, ballanced (speed, performance and affordablity) plane you could get for the money.
Personally I think they did a dam excellent job at it as well...
What you see people doing in the forums borders on crazy really. The speed they achieve with this plane and the power they pump into it is just nuts. One guy even burnt up his plane!!!
As for the car charger I agree with you you definately need a wall charger. I cannot suggest an inexpensive one and I'm truly sorry about that. I'm just not well versed about this kind of thing.
But here is what I did do with mine, I got an adapter.
I'm sure your local radio shack can sell you something which will fit over that cigerette lighter plug and mount it into the wall.
Just make sure it can output 12 volts. You can bring along the charger which you have to radio shack and ask them if they can help you with finding an adapter for it.
Good luck to you man
Clear skys and calm days to ya.
