Just watched the 2002 Superman video and I was somewhat surprised not to see a wider use of hearing protection.

I spent 2 years of my life as a ramp rat and lost a good chunk of my hearing in the upper frequencies, so I hate to see other people inflict this on themselves.

Having made my preferences known, I was curious how other folks view the use or non-use of hearing protection in close proxitimity to turbines (ie start up and shutdown..)
