Default RE: GP Cap 232

I have G3 but I only fly the Yak. I honestly don't really fly the simulator that much. It helps, but it bores me to tears. I attributed much of my hovering problems with the CAP to needing upthrust. It pulls pretty bad to the wheels on uplines, hovers, etc. This winter I added two washers of upthrust but haven't flown the plane yet. I expect to next week. I'm hoping it helps a bit.

And also, even though I'm making 20lbs thrust, I have a hard time with pull out because I have to use so much up elevator to keep it vertical that it causes extra resistance.

Anyways, that's the theory, and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks
Barry
Sorry, words "extra hard" might be missleading, well harder that you migh do so on other planes, in this case. What I mean is quick minor "Up elevator" gimbal blip just enough to pop tail under, and not to hold it as an airbrake. And if you doing a TR and the plane popes out of it, in this case quick rudder imput is very effective way to bring that plane back to strait position again. As for the uplines even in a sim plane pulls towards the weels and it should since CAP carring its wing under its belly. Plane have to track strait, by adding an upthrust you might alter the way your CAP perfomes KE, but on the other hand I'm not discurage you to try things aroud, bottom line adding washers is not that complicated and you should try it.

Now the sim. I have almost all Add-Ons where most of the major aerobatic platforms are represented: Edge 540, Extra 330L and Yaks. For the exeption of Giles 202 I think it covers pretty much all. Since I got Expantion pack #1 for G3, I became a CAPadict. Almost a year pass since I got it and I'm finding myself that 98% of the time I fly CAP 580 on the sim. And by the way I do not recalling to spend myself so much time on the sim before when I had Yaks, Edge and Extra(however it is sometimes amusing to go back to these planes and compare the way they all fly), as I do now with a CAP, eight to ten hours on the weekend easy! The best $30 I spend on the sims.

Barry, good luck. I wish it helps!
