Some of the carbs are made with extra fine threads on the needles so the normal 1 1/2 or so needle settings are way lean...The first Poulan 46s I converted about 4 years ago were like that, almost 4 turns out to run right....Some have no slots in the needles when you take the plastic covers off, you might have to make your own...
