The reason dad used piano wire instead of tapped 3mm rod was because it wouldnt have been as strong. Had to normalise it first to get it soft enough. Anealing would have been better but it would have taken much longer.Now weve got a horn to match the 12ishkg pull servo on the rudder!

With regard to full thottle blenders, most planes won't go cleanly into one at that speed any way. They will do a couple of rotations in a spiral dive and then flick into a blender.
I think they look better anyway when entered going slowly.
