Yes, metal tail wheels can be a problem, but the washers should not be a problem, they usually can't move enough, or have enough contact area to cause a problem.
Usually the tail wheel is close by the end of your RX aerial.
But be aware, that running the aerial past your switch & servos, or parrallel with servo wiring, can cause more problems than a metal tail wheel.
