Default metal to metal interference

Can a tailwheel with a metal hub on the axle cause interference? Or any metal washers on an axle?

What other metal to metal on a plane will cause it?

G'day Mate,
Yes, metal tail wheels can be a problem, but the washers should not be a problem, they usually can't move enough, or have enough contact area to cause a problem.
Usually the tail wheel is close by the end of your RX aerial.
But be aware, that running the aerial past your switch & servos, or parrallel with servo wiring, can cause more problems than a metal tail wheel.

Wonder why they make metal hubs on a tail wheel? Do they think you will be using a plastic axle or something?

You mean directly next to servo wiring, right?

Actually, the hub on my tailwheels are made of aluminum. That does not cause the RF signals when it contacts other metals. RF interference are cause by ferrous (containing iron) metals rubbing against each other.

I assume you mean the threaded clevises here. Yes, they can cause interference if they aren't tight. That is what the jamb nut is for behind these types of clevises. They nut is tightened down against the clevis so that it can't vibrate in flight.

Hope this helps

That is what I was pertaining to. The threaded clevis. Thanks

I wonder if thread lock would also cure it?
