Default RE: Show Us Your Aero Ace Custom Builds

Not going to bore everyone with pics of my bland planes, besides they look pretty much just like the online versions.

1. Alley Cat--- as on the Poccoztoolbox site. A little wing tip dihedral helps it straighten from turns. I took a metal ruler and pressed it onto the wing tip to crease it and just gently folded the wing tip up. The wing tip is bent up just past the prop slot. Flys great with the aeroace jet gear, the black F22 looking one, built light out of 2mm white depron and colored with sharpies.

2. Dizzy Chick--- Also from the Piccoztoolbox site. Built with AA Bipe guts and 2mm white depron. Flies great and turns on a dime. Would be a good gym flier.

3. Dizzy Space-- http://www.modellbauvideos.de/index.php? Flies good at third power. Climbs out good above that. Also built with 2mm white depron and AA Bipe guts. Looks really neat in the air. Slower than you think but contollable. This one flew so well that I am going to try and build a larger full rc version.

I found a great way to assemble these little planes. Scrap book tape. It is double sided, as narrow as 1/8 inch and doesn't add much weight and is easier to use than glue. Also holds pretty good too. Planes have held up great with many run ins with trees, houses, trucks, you get the idea. After a little practice the tape is really easy to use. Even on the edge of the foam it works good. I found this tape at Hobby Lobby in the scrap book area. The tape is in a few different widths and even a combo pack with a few different widths together. This is good stuff.

See ya,
Rod
