I failed to mention....I think you're doing a good job of lightening the airframe (I overdesigned the fusebox for sure). I have a 160dz up front and the plane sits at 10lbs. 9oz. I know making weight with electric will not be trivial, but judging by your pictures, I think you have a good shot. Also, I'm sure it is of little consolation to you, but the production kits now have significantly less volume of lite ply (see pic).
It should be interesting to see what kind of RTF weight you end up with on the cored out wing panels (mine as you know are solid....I cut mine by hand.... before I got the foam machine figured out
