RE: Craft Air Firebird
I had a firebird back in 1986-87ish. I loved that plane. flew it for many years till the experation date arrived. When I tryed to get another, I was told they no longer existed. Then in 1996, I found one for sale in the classifieds in RC REPORT. I called the guy, (his name was Ron) & as it turned out, he and a few others were the original designers of that plane, & the one he had was the last one of the last run made. We talked for a while & after I built it, I tracked him down again,(he moved) & sent him some photo's as we had agree'd to. I still have this plane & I still love flying it when ever I can. Very smooth in the air. I had a super tiger abc 45 in my first one years ago. & now I have an O.S. 70 4-stroke in it. Converted it to tail dragger for extra prop clearance. Added 3/4 inch to the rudder & she flys like an arrow. Vertical is unlimited. Wieghts in at 6 1/4 pounds. As soon as I dig up my pictures, (I moved too) I'll post some. may even have to take new photos. You will not be disappionted with that plane. If interested in selling it, I'd love to buy it.................Bill Phillips
