those sock shock do cause a bit of resistance, so i try and stay away from them. The best idea ive even seen is that on the jammin x-cr shocks. They dont cause any type of resistance, and do a great job keeping dirt from getting inside the shcosk, and scrathing up stuff. also the little rubbery plastic boots that the hyper 7 ( and i think hyper 8) shock come with work well, but they do eventually tear.
