RE: Rudder
The counterbalance is the part that swings to the opposite side of the vert stab when the rudder is deflected. Measure your throws at the top of the vert stab.
Depending on your experience level with effective rudder control, you may find that the recommended rudder throws on some ARF's are fairly conservative. Start there and, if you want, you can increase the throws later.
If you are new, you may find that MOST planes with counterbalanced rudders are above your current skill level. Only you know for sure, be careful and good luck.
