Cabosil is used to thicken epoxy up without making it weaker. They're small solid balls, and so the epoxy doesn't get any less dense.

Microballoons or Q-cell is different in that they're small hollow spheres, and do reduce the density of the mixture. They also make it easier to sand as well.
