Default RE: Transporting plane in pick-up bed...

ORIGINAL: foosball_movie

Hi. I have a pickup I use to transport my plane to the field. Currently I just put the wing on a blanket and cradle the fusulage in my field kit tote. It's not exactly secure. The other day I was cut off while driving to the field and everything slid into the truck's cab. I thought for sure the rudder was broken.

Are there any plans or pictures that show how to assemble some sort of way to transport plans a little more securely?
Hey TX, Man, you mean you no got 'em a Cargo-Net fer ya' Pick 'em up Truck? Blast off down ta' the nearest truck supply or preferably Wal-Mart and get one. Then some 2x2, with some eye-screws in the bed-slots or even use the supplied suction cups and you can lash down all your toys however you need, each time you need to and the 'eats' when you have to do the grocery shopping.
With a cheap tarp from the $ store you can cover all the stuff -- including the new stuff when you visit the local hobby shop -- and keep it out of the sun, then the net really secures everything. I don't know today's prices but I doubt it will be over 12-15 yankee dollars. It's a very handy and effective little critter.
Don't be scared off because it looks all tangled up. It really comes all apart for use real fine.

edit replace 4 with $
