I also replaced the tank, reinforced the dowel receiver by adding a piece of wood behind the hole (drilled the same way) so that the dowels have a deeper hole to live in and not be able to wiggle around. I have liberally put epoxy everywhere possible and fuel proofed the fuel tank chamber. i reinforced the firewall from the inside and I think I will toothpick the firewall as well as the front mounts for the wing dowls (and probably the back). I also fiberglassed the wing as well as adding a sweet dark blue checkerboard to the whole bottom of the plane.
