RE: Exceed Dragonfly 20
Well, it arrived via Fedex and after unpacking it I found several things that have to be addressed before tuning it for it's first flight. The actual model is the CocoLlama G5. First thing I noticed is that the blades are 'loose' in the bladeholders and flop around. I presume that centrifugal force will straighten both sets of blades (and the flybar) out into their proper balanced position.
The second thing I noticed after powering up the receiver, hooking up the battery, and spinning it up a bit was the fact that the Lipo is unfixed to the mounting area on the skid. When spooling up the vibration actually slid it out of the back of the holder and onto the floor. Something that needs fixing before it's first flight for sure. My first RC so I don't have any experience, but I do know how eggbeaters work. It looks like the lower set of blades are the actual 'cyclic' control and the uppers are just for countertorque and the added lift of course. With the blades loose in the mounts the upper blades and flybar appear badly out of level, but they became steady once spooled up.
I haven't taken the screwdriver to it yet. It looks like the antenna is just rolled up and stuffed in the front with the receiver.
Wasn't there a link to a post on tuning up a new CocoLlama? Can't seem to find it.
