Well, I sent off for a Dragonfly 20 (still waiting) but it appears to be an almost complete clone of the CocoLlama or the new V4 Llama. The picture of the aircraft on the website of the vendor I bought it from has Exceed RC on the side of the fuselage, so I'm assuming
that either Exceed has decided to start selling Llama knockoffs or that Walkera has decided to change it's name to Exceed, perhaps because of the bad reputation their electronics seem to have.
If it is a knockoff at least it should be easy to find replacement parts when needed, and setup should be the same regardless.
Anyone else bought one yet?

I don't think it's knock off. Is just another one made by another manufacture. As far as I see parts are totally compatible except tail boom so you can interchange them. I think walkera OEM for exceed RC just like how walkera OEM for venom aircorps.
Thanks
Thanks

Well, it arrived via Fedex and after unpacking it I found several things that have to be addressed before tuning it for it's first flight. The actual model is the CocoLlama G5. First thing I noticed is that the blades are 'loose' in the bladeholders and flop around. I presume that centrifugal force will straighten both sets of blades (and the flybar) out into their proper balanced position.
The second thing I noticed after powering up the receiver, hooking up the battery, and spinning it up a bit was the fact that the Lipo is unfixed to the mounting area on the skid. When spooling up the vibration actually slid it out of the back of the holder and onto the floor. Something that needs fixing before it's first flight for sure. My first RC so I don't have any experience, but I do know how eggbeaters work. It looks like the lower set of blades are the actual 'cyclic' control and the uppers are just for countertorque and the added lift of course. With the blades loose in the mounts the upper blades and flybar appear badly out of level, but they became steady once spooled up.
I haven't taken the screwdriver to it yet. It looks like the antenna is just rolled up and stuffed in the front with the receiver.
Wasn't there a link to a post on tuning up a new CocoLlama? Can't seem to find it.

I notice that too. Draganfly 20 is only a name and now they've decided to name it CocoLlama G5, LOL
the blades are suppose to be loose and it will align itself during rotation in high speed. if you want maximum glitch free you want to untangle the antenna and let it loose.
Thanks

Hmm, never thought about that Yadac, the only flights I've taken have been from about 5 ft. away so far so I suppose the coiled antenna worked for that. Hard to tell if it's glitching since the flight characteristics seem to change as the battery drains.
I want to make the blades track correctly and wondered about the proper method. Some people say that you can just tighten or loosen the blade grips to track the blades. Others say that you have to use the adjustable flybar link (I suppose for the top set and it doesn't mention the bottom set). Anyone know the best way to get the blades to track true?
BTW: Heh, heh, only one battery pack used (waiting to do the above), no crashes (just some bumps), I haven't even really hovered and I've already ordered the XTREME blades, the flexible tail boom, and an extra battery. There's a fine line between 'forward thinking' and 'paranoia', I think I may have already crossed it!

I don't think you need track the blades at all because this design will stabalize itself. I would suggest getting a bigger battery and make the flight longer.
I upgraded to 1600Mah, which doubles the flight time with some foam tapes.
Thanks

Sounds like good advice Yadac, should I balance the flybar?
I ordered another 800 mah Lipo, but you're right, I could use some extra time. What do you use the foam tape for?
If I keep buying Lipo's, I'll just have to get more RC equipment to use it with
