Default RE: CMP Hellcat

flyfisher431, expo is actually expotential. It slows down a servo in the first part of the movement but full is still full. The 3d guys use it a lot. So long as you have a computerized type radio it will have it in it. Read in your radio manual on expo it will explain it much better than I can but I will try. Lets say a servo moves a 1/4" of travel with 1/4 stick movement. With 50% expo that same servo will only move 1/8" with the same 1/4 stick movement. Now this only approximate not actuall measurements. But as you move the stick further the servo will start to catch up with the stick untill full deflection on the stick is full on the servo think of it as porportional. That way when you want full elevator you still have it but the first part of the stick will be much less sensitive depending on how much expo is dialed in. Like I said the book will explain it much better. Some warbird pilots don't believe in it but I do but it is something you have to try and see if you like it. I only use it on a plane if I think it will help and the Hellcat is the only one I use it on except my B-25 I use it on the nose steering so that it is less sensitive on take off and landing but I still have a load of steering if I want to make a real tight turn.
