If you are thinking of 12th scale combat then in the UK most people fly blue foam and brown paper. Strong light and easy to repair. Most cut there own but Mainly Models Hitchin do kits. The Hurricane is propably the best one to start with and has won lots of comps. They also do a Hellcat for 25s.

If you want a mini masterpiece there are some cottage industry kits from eastern europe that are works of art. Very light moulded fuz and precovered wings with printed film including panel line details. If you want more details PM me and I will dig up some URLs for you.
