Probably not - 3d planes tend to have a high frontal area whereas the speed planes don't.

Get a 3d'er and look at it straight on from the front, then look at a speed model and look at it straight on from the front - you will see a lot less plane on the speed models - thin wing chord, more stramlined fuselage etc.
