Default RE: Futaba 3PM-2.4G, do I need a failsafe?

ORIGINAL: rcj

I have the 3PM 2.4Ghz like yours on order. I haven't been able to find a manual for it except the 3PM FM. I've been trying to understand the HRS/Failsafe requirements myself. I'd rather not have to use a 6V power pack to get HRS & saved Failsafe because of the extra cost, weight, and maintenance. Did your radio come with a manual specific to the 3PM 2.4Ghz radio? At least there's the manual failsafe you mentioned.

BTW, how do you like the radio and what range are you getting in the neighbourhood street area?

I really like this radio system (although I am just getting back into the hobby after 6-7 years and a lot of things have changed)
The manual is specific to the 3PM-2.4G
I only ran about 5 tanks of fuel (today) since I got this radio and it worked flawlessly, I tested the FS several times and it did exactly what it was supposed to do. I have already gotten into the habit of setting it every time I turn on the TX so forgetting shouldn't be a problem (fingers crossed).

I was out in an open construction area so I can't speak about reception in the neighbourhood areas.
