Default Modern Equivalent to Esquire

I looking to scratch build a model that has the same flight characteristics as the old Midwest Esquire (rudder only), however, I want to use three channels, throttle, elevator and rudder.

The Esquire had a 50" span with 500 sq. in. of wing area and flew on a .15 .19 size engine. The Esquire weighed 3 1/2 pounds max. It was a real docile airplane with a .15 and am looking for slow and stable performance.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
