Hey Sewer dude.
Yeah, I plan on using a 1/4 scale Klett tail wheel on this one. I used one on my Extra and it worked out really cool. My wife decided my penance would be to bbq steaks at home(some punishment

). I tightened up the covering, lots and lots of wrinkles, attached the aeilerons and joined the wing. One mishap, the wing bolt plate was warped and when I tried to glue it on and use the wing bolts to straighten it out it cracked in half. No biggie, I just went ahead and tightened the bolts and after it dried I ironed a peice of covering over the crack. Can't even tell. This plane is so well put together. It's the same series as their 80" yak. I had one about a year ago. It had all the servo's(5645 mg) and everything installed except the engine and was stolen along with EVERYTHING else I had related to rc.
I am also going to pin the fire wall per Bubba Gates instruction. I will use the stock horns but will probably upgrade to some type of ball joint rods. I'm going to check out some of the cool stuff from Rocket City and see if it is cost effective. Also, I plan to use only 1 servo, probably a 8711 set up pull-pull for the rudder with 5645's on all the other surfaces. Still undecided on the engine but I have time and right now I'm leaning towards a Moki 2.10. I'll probably change my mind several times. Only time will tell.
Trim wise I am going to experiment with 1/8" gold pinstriping on the red and blue. Also, in the May, 2007 Issue of Fly RC I read a review on the BVM 2.6 Edge 540. The scheme is such that it looks like the front covering is torn away to reveal a checker board scheme underneath. I want to do something like this between the canopy and the cowl on the top of the fuse. Something to the effect of a hole torn in the top to reveal an eagle flying straight at you wraped with a U.S. flag or a flag background. Lofty goals but what the heck. I will practice some different methods on seperate peices of Mono-cote and IF i get somthing I like I can apply it using trim solvent. Man, I'm rambling. I'm really excited about this bird. Anyone's advice on how to do the scheme I described would be appreciated and if I'm crazy, let me know this as well

.
I'll post some pics when i get the basic airframe done. Oh, by the way Sewer Dude given your handle are you a plumber. Been one myself for twenty years. Just curious.
Back later,
Rod
