4th Annual Dan Coyne "Hog Fly" Mt. Pleasant, Michigan (casino nearby)
Admittedly you have to be able to "hit the spot" to some degree to land on a 35' wide strip of asphalt. However, the transition from the asphalt to the grass is relatively seamless. The grass strip is, of course, directly adjacent to the asphalt taxiway and is probably another 30 to 40 feet wide. Honestly, we have not had any trouble in the past. I have flown off this exact strip many times with only one mishap. That being I ran into a taxiway marker light. Now, we remove the marker lights for our events.
