Does anyone have this engine mounted in a pattern plane?

I'm new at this so these questions may seem elementary to most of you...

I just got Webra 1.45 that I intend to put in a Typhoon 2000. I'm having trouble coming up with a mounting system for it. I intended to use the home-brew Piedmont soft mount system,

but it comes up about 1/2" short of the front of the cowl. I could build a stand-off of some type or a box. However, several people have advised against this mount. Anyone have experience using this?

A Hyde-type mount seems like it may be overkill for a two stroke engine, but I am considering it. I'm also considering a Dave Brown Vibradamp.

The nose ring is another problem. I have a Gator RC nose ring, but it won't fit over the thrust washer. Do nose rings come in different sizes? If so, who has them? Is one even necessary with a soft mounted 2 stroke engine?

Thank you for any advice you can offer.

Dave
