I don't know that the home brew mount I devised would work with stand-offs. The neoprene well nuts secure the mount by grasping the backside of the firewall, so your stand-offs would likely be too thick for the grip range of the nuts.

A good option if you don't feel like messing with a nose ring is the Hyde "A" mount, that works without a nose ring. It's a bit heavy if you can afford a couple of oz weight penalty. I like it better than the Hyde ARI mounts with integrated nose ring, plus it's a less expensive.
