Default RE: Twist 150 and havin fun

Hi guy's I have owned the 40 the 60 and now the 150,I have flown mine a couple of times and the 150 just like the 40 and 60 versions take some dialing in to get them to fly decent. I have a GT 26 gasser with a tuned pipe, I have Hitec digital's HS 5625's all around except the throttle (HS81 MG) I have an APC 17X4 prop and running it on 45:1 gas oil mix at the moment, I have a 2700 Mah Nihm 6.0 volt for the radio and a 4.8 volt 1700 nihm for the ignition, I have the rates set as per the manual for low and high and the third rate (Futaba 9 C) for full mechanical throws I have a PCM receiver also. I flew the plane the first time and the plug came loose so the flight ended with a dead stick landing...every first flight on all my twist's have ended with a maiden dead stick landings...good job they float in well...so second flight flew a complete tank through it fly's ok'is I am thinking the ailerons need more servo.. Landing this time with power......it lands a bit funny right now. I have the C.G set to the most forward as all my twists have been it does not balloon but it comes in hot and needs to be flown in, not as easy to land as my twist 60 (read the twist 60 forum for the set up I had on it) so third flight made a couple of changes balanced the plane laterally and tried again, the motor is starting to break in well now lots of power taxied out took of vertical cool!!!! flew it around. the wind was not nice last night blustery and a bit shearery..not good but Defiantly need more servo on the wings, landed and retired it to the workshop where I have some hinge tape to seal the control surfaces and a pair of Hitec HS 5645's which I will put in place of the 5625’s in the wing I am not too impressed with the 150 yet but it took maybe 8/10 flights on my 60 before I got it to fly good and it really did fly good…..if the 150 does not fly nice I will sell it and buy another 60 size….but the 150 has a couple of more flight to redeem itself yet, I’ll keep you all posted and hopefully get it set up right and tell you all how it went….Colin.
