Just to add mt tuppence worth, Ive been using the dx7 over the last couple of months, in two EDFs, one with a speed controller with BEC and the other larger EDF with 6 midi servos driven off a seperated BEC.
No problems whatsoever experienced and perfectly happy (so far!)
