Maybe you should be using lower profile servos with support blocks at the fuselage for each.

A small ply block where the screws go in would "lift" the servo a hair, and give you enough space to mount two mini or low profile servos.

Like this, but with the blocks on top, instead of under the screw as it shows in the picture.
