hey jamiekerr, if you want to start flying with a 3d plane and learn 3d i would recomend you to buy a Great Planes Rimfire 22M-1000 Brushless Motor or equivalent, a Great Planes Silver Series 12A Brushless ESC 5V/1A BEC or equivalent, a nice set of lipo's, a good charger, a spektrum DX6 park fly, and buy any foamy available (Great Planes RC Universe Biplane FlatOuts 3D ARF 30.7" would be great) and when it's completely trashed just buy another one. ohh and buy a lot of foam safe CA . and just get thriugh whith it. This engine, ESC, combo will power any foamy you like. from a flatout extra to a eflight ultimate. remember: foamies are descardable, what is not is the equipment. ance you get the gear you are all set!!!
