RE: Sig Kobra construction thread
I have been flying a newly built Kobra this spring. I love the way it lands with the nose high and just sinking to the runway. If I did it again: I would split the elevator, pull the fuse ends together at the back, extend the rudder to the fuse bottom, make it a tail-dragger.
It has some weird rudder coupling that makes knife edge challenging.
The nose is cramped so the nose gear is tight.
After it was built, I hogged out the engine compartment. I can now remove the engine with the mounts attached. This is easier than removing the engine with the mounts attaches to the firewall. The cowl made things tight up front.
