Having no choke per se will not keep you from running the engine. What you did not say was what lead up to the loss of the choke. If it was lost due to something like crash damage then there is always a possibility that other things have also happened that could affect successful operation.

If it just fell apart and fell off then plug the holes where the shaft for the butterfly passes thru the carb body abd choke it with your appropriate digit. If it is the sliding plate type then just use that digit.
