There is no "best" kit. Some people will choose the ones with the laser cut parts (great fit). Others, like me usually end up with die cut parts, but with great instructions (IE, GP kits). I have heard that the sig kits can be a real bear to build due to some of there poor instructions (Older kits). Some may differ from this idea. I have built a Carl Goldberg Cub and it was easy. I built it when I was 15 so anyone should be able to do it. I have built 4 Great planes kits and all of them were easy to built. In my opinion there instructions are 1st rate. Lots of pictures to guide you and the plans are detailed and accurate.
Here is a link to the GP Cub. They have 3 of em, 20, 40, and a 60 size.
http://www.greatplanes.com/airplanes/gpma0160.html Pick the size for you and there should be no problem for a 1st time builder. They also offer on this site the ability to download there manuals so you can see if it will be feasable for you to build.
