RE: UPDATE: GST RUNNING
well...had a good run today....last night i put the new exhaust gasket in....man was that a pain....i ended up using a super small zip tie to hold the gasket in place so it wouldn't slide toward the motor when i put it in......yes i tried wd-40 and oil to slip it on easy... but it seemed to work good....
i started the car and it was sluggish as can be, extremly slow......so i kept an eye on the temps and they were only at 170degrees now that i fixed the exhaust gasket. so i was able to lean the motor almost a full turn (3/4 i think) to get the temps around 220. after that it was working real nice, i was running it with my brother who i let use my new revo, they both seem to have they advantages. but i was jumping the truck over a dirt hill (wanted to get a vid together, but i didn't feel like drivin home to find my camcorder....next time...) all was working good then a tie-rod end fell off....simple fix, had extras screws available. but a little while latermy right front a-arm broke and the axel fell out....so looks like i can snap it back in (no more jumps till i get a replacement tho....) was looking at getting the aluminum ones, but i dont have that kind of money right now, so ill have to stick with the plastic ones....
all in all.....im very impressed with the truck's performance as well as the functionality of the roll cage. having that air leak at the gasket completely destroyed the performance, let alone made a heck of a mess all over the truck. also i am very glad i locked my diff, i imagine i probably wouldn't even be able to climb over some of the curbs i climb over if it wasn't locked..
also......if my truck is up against a curb and i have to give it probably half throttle till it climbs over it...is that going to burn up my clutch shoes? just wanna know so i can order extras if i need to (might try out the aluminum ones)
