b toby - Good tip. That's what I have been doing, winding out the top end, when I start cranking the engine over I can hear when the fuel starts to enter the engine, then turn back to normal setting, attach the glow plug, crank over and it starts first time.
suitcase - The wraps issue is a thought, I don't have leaks in the fuel system and pressure holds untill I disconnect the t's from the dots!!! But maybe a wrap or a kink in the fuel line is restricting the flow, don't think so but will have a look.
