I just ordered the DL-50 myself.
There have been lots of positive feedback reports on the internet and here at RCU. In fact, during the time that I sampled, the DL-50 surpassed the DA-50 in customer satisfaction. Of course, if someone were to capture data from a later time frame, it could come out just opposite from my conclusions. To me, that means that both engines are good, from what I have seen.
I suspect you'll be very happy with your choice Ed. Mine's been flawless in operation (a massive contrast to my other Chinese gasser) and the only thing I've noticed on the negative is that the bearings are already developing a little radial movement after just a gallon of running. I used the prescribed oil ratio (mineral as is the prevailing wisdom for break-in) but I suspect they're just "Chinese" and will need replacement at some time in the not too distant future.
