I want to make the body on my Stampede a little lower. A website suggested cutting off a certain length and carving new nipples for the body pins to go through. But I'm not sure if I can pull that off without messing up and it will put my spare body posts to waste. Are there any aftermarket posts available with adjustable or lower height posts?
Is this low enough? All I did is take off the rear bodymounts and bought some front rustler body mounts like [link=http://cgi.ebay.ca/Traxxas-Stampede-Rustler-Body-Mount-Set-1914_W0QQitemZ260124398305QQihZ016QQcategoryZ44028 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]this[/link], and mounted that as in the picture. The rear of the body mounts with the body mount nub on the shock tower.
WOW! Thanks for taking the time to do that. Even if you already had those pictures still thanks a bunch. Looks like I'll do that. I notice without the rear mounts on there's one in the middle which I figure is for the Rustler. I wouldn't mind using a Rustler body. Is that what you did on your Stampede?
Also, if I put a Rustler body on my Stampede that way, will the heat sinks on my stock XL5 ESC still have enough room to not touch the body itself, even on a flip over impact?
