oh yeah without a doubt you will be able to keep it in range, you just have to remember what the range is. Using full range rx's in all but the smallest application myself i don't think about it anymore, if my KMD had a shortened range i might forget and exceed it one day inadvertantly, while chasing a seagull out of my airspace for instance!
