I have been told it's not a very good plane, it has no flaps.
None of the designs of that era had flaps. For a 56 year old design, it does pretty well.
I've had a half dozen Ringmasters. An S-1a version with the venerable Fox 35 was one of the best flying models I've ever piloted.
