RE: Best Engine for Ultra Stick 60
I have been flying my US 60 for about 2 years now with an older 61 FSR swinging a 13 x 5 zinger wooden prop. it doesn't have the power for awesome 3d but sport flying is fun. remember this is not a speed plane therefore it exceeds at manuers from low throttle to half throttle and use the half throttle to full to get yourself out of trouble. my will climb vertical practically out of site from a vertical stalled maneuver. but like i said it does not have the sustained 3d power. the us 60 will be nose heavy no matter what engine you put on it. I relocated the elevator and rudder (pull-pull) servos to the tail. I just cut and opening for the rudder servo on top in front of the vertical stab. the elevator servo was located about the same position but on the side opposite the exhaust. make sure you locate the rear formers before cutting the sheeting. I also took popsicle sticks to brace the sheeting on the inside where the servos would be mounted. this aided in balancing the plane. this plane is also very forgiving with a too far aft cg. so play with the cg and find out what is right for you.
