Has your "mentor" given you a reason for not continuing to help? Do you have bad breath? Or maybe just don't follow instructions too well, that can be irritating. Is he a club instructor or just a buddy that's been helping.

The schools work but usually not cheap. You can't find a reliable instructor there?
