Biged's fav trainer.
Could not resist BigE as you post this a lot and looks to be an excellent choice.
Hehe, guilty as charged! I've owned and flown several different Thunder Tiger aircraft since I started in the hobby a few seasons ago, and they've been consistently excellent in quality, ease of assembly, and thoroughness of instructions. It doesn't hurt when you see a deal like the ones that the folks at
www.thundertiger4u.com are offering right now.
A few months ago I was mentioning the $219.99 Pegasus .40 Super Combo package over at eHobbies.com, but they recently dropped that combo from their website and raised their prices on the Tiger Trainer .60 and Tiger Trainer .40 Mk II Super Combos. I just try to keep an eye out for "really good deals" and mention them if folks ask.
I know a lot of folks are fond of recommending the Tower Trainer .40 MkII RTF package, and it is a good plane. I'm flying one of the ARFs right now, however, and between the soft landing gear wire and the trim pieces on the covering peeling off like crazy, I'm working overtime just to keep it in nice flying shape.
The Hangar 9 Alpha and Arrow RTFs are really nice planes, but boy are they sure proud of them when it comes to price. The Nexstar isn't exactly cheap, either, considering your first task when building it is to disconnect the ALS you don't want and removing the "stall pods" from the wing's leading edge.
The Thunder Tiger Easy Trainer 40H package has everything you need and nothing you don't all at a very friendly price. Right now it seems to be the best deal on the market, until somebody else steps up and offers RC shoppers a genuine deal on a high quality trainer package.
