Default RE: First Solo Flights

ORIGINAL: mrlikescheese

no, i got to fly my Superstar trainer a little bit this weekened and i got a couple landings in on the buddy box. on the simulator i can land very well most of the time.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but there is a big difference between landing very well "most of the time" on a sim and doing it in real conditions. Don't rush this, that Superstar will be much less forgiving than the Aerobird you put into the ground.

I have found that the landings are actually far easier than the take offs, when you mix wind and ground conditions into the flight, it becomes much more difficult.

I had about 10 flights on the buddy box without any instructor input before I soloed for the first time.
