Default Reading Glowplug

Hi guys,

Just got a question for you guys on reading glow plugs.

First off, I'm running the AE .15X with 30% using an O.S. #8 plug. This apply to most engines, since its really more of a question on tuning, rather than the actual engine itself.

I've read some stuff about "reading your glow plug", but never really found an in-depth explanation of how to read it.

After a few tanks running my GT2, I notice that the first coil or two on the glow plug doesn't turn red-hot as the rest of the coils deeper inside. What is this telling me? What is causing this? What is the optimal look for a glow plug when the engine is properly tuned, and how would I need to tune my engine for the glow plug to read optimally?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
