Matty, no dont cut it!!! dont you do it!! look on the back of the plug you will see acouple slots that you can see the brass connectors well on those slots you will a couple plastic tabs, get your self a hobby knife( be very careful not to cut yourself) and slip the tip under the tab and lift while pulling the wires to slide them out. do the same to the other plug and swap the plugs being careful to take note of the orientation and which wire goes in to which slot.
