Default RE: Modelers and cats

I have one cat named Socks. When he was little he was pretty wild and loved to attack your legs when you walked by. My little girl (3) would yell at him when he attacked her and then he would come up and rub around her legs to say he's sorry. My mom calls him socks the psycho but he got sick a month ago, i think he ate a mouse that had been poisoned and nearly died. He has calmed down quite a bit and i still think he is on the mend, but now he stays really close to my wife and little girl. And now he always sleeps with us wheras before he wouldn't ever go in our bedroom. Just don't scratch his belly or you will get chewed on!! Last time i weighed him he was 22 lbs. We also had a golden retriever named Bear that just died this spring. HE was 14 year old and was shot with arthritis. He went chasing out to the field after me when i was taking out a skunk i had caught in a live trap and died of a heart attack. I have pics of him with Karlee when she was about 8 months old. She would crawl all over him pulling on his ears and tongue and he would just lay there and wag his tail loving every minute of it. He also helped her walk for the first time as she started at me took 2 steps towards bear and started to fall, he quickly moved up beside her and she grabbed his fur and got standing up again and then she took a couple more steps to mom. Bear also wouldn't let her anywhere near the grid road when she was outside. She would get about 50 feet from the road and he would keep on blocking her path and start to whine until she turned around. God help you if Karlee was scared and you were between her and bear he would even growl at me if karlee and i were playing on the grass and she would get mad at me. He also loved cats, we had 6 outdoor cats at one time and they would dog/cat pile to sleep together all the time. And when Bear went for a walk it was comical as the cats would follow along rubbing up against his legs getting in his way. My only pet peeve with bear was that he loved chewing on rocks and would always do it on the lawn. It made things pretty interesting when i wen to mow the lawn and usually very loud!! He will be missed
