Default RE: Problem With The Falcon 3D Tail

ORIGINAL: Foxito

About my move to Israel, most of my relatives live there and thats why I moved.
Anyways, every time I take my Falcon out to fly it's not that windy, but when I start to spin up the rotor blades, a gust of wind suddenly comes by. It seems like I'm controlling the throttle and the wind at the same time, so there are basically no calm days at all where I live. I guess I'll just have to get used to it, but like I said in the other post, I'm going to get a Nitro powered Sceadu Evo 50 soon, so the wind won't be a problem.
(I started a new "quote" because you quote what I said, I quote you, and this was getting too long and annoying....)

Ok, on your move to Israel, nice, at least you are where your ancestors are from, I think that was a good move.

As for you controllng the wind, well... as you probably know by now, there is something called the "ground effect", that most of people consider up to 4' feet or so off the ground... When you spin your heli, the heli itself is pushing air down at a very strong speed, so that acts back against the heli itself, .... once you pass the 4' feet threshold and above, the ground effect is less so it should be more stable. - I'm just guessing that's what you're talking about, unless you mentioned it as a joke. But mostly what you describe is the ground effect, try to hover above ground more than 4' feet and it should be more stable.

My problem is real wind, I mean more than 10+ MPH all the time, you can see the trees moving all the time real bad, and some days even more like 20-25 MPH like the past weeks. So that way it's not easy for anyone in the learning curve to do much progress without crashing....and crashing....and more crashing.... as we both have been..hehe, so I know what you mean when you spoke of wind.

Do they have hobby shop stores there where you live?
Have you noticed that we can use some parts from other helis on the Falcon 3D? Like the Raptor G3, or the Shogun V1/V2 ? So if you got hobby shop stores and they have parts from these other helis chances are you might be able to use them

Regards
About the ground effect, I try to hover higher than 4 feet to get rid of the ground effect, but when I do hover higher than 4 feet, the wind makes my Falcon go crazy up and down and it's hard to control. I don't want to fly indoors because if I do, I have very little space and I have to stay at the same spot in order not to hit something.

Actually there are many Hobby Shops where I live (a lot of people in Israel are in to this hobby). The closest hobby shop to my house is about a 30 minute drive away, but they only have parts for the Honey Bee King, the Lama V3, and much bigger Nitro helis. So I can't get parts for my Falcon 3D in my area.
