About the ground effect, I try to hover higher than 4 feet to get rid of the ground effect, but when I do hover higher than 4 feet, the wind makes my Falcon go crazy up and down and it's hard to control. I don't want to fly indoors because if I do, I have very little space and I have to stay at the same spot in order not to hit something.
Okay then you knew about the ground effect. Yes, I know what you mean by the wind, same thing has been difficult to me to hover or fly anything without crashing, because when least you expect it, there is a gut of wind...bang! to the ground we go, easy like that. As for inside, I have the same exact problem, inside home the only thing I can fly is my Blade CX2, and in a very limited area in the living room and even moving the furniture around, then I have maybe like 5' X 6' feet and that's all....... and the Falcon 3D inside, forget it, to me that would be like trying to fly a Boeing 747 in the living room....this heli is way too strong and powerful to even hover at the living room.... at least I don't have space on mine for such a thing, so my only way is either the patio (limited too), the frontyard (a bit bigger) or the park...alot much bigger like 500' X 600' feet or so.
Actually there are many Hobby Shops where I live (a lot of people in Israel are in to this hobby) . The closest hobby shop to my house is about a 30 minute drive away, but they only have parts for the Honey Bee King, the Lama V3, and much bigger Nitro helis. So I can't get parts for my Falcon 3D in my area.
Good for you! Same here, I have like 3-4 hobby shops right in my city, within a range of 5 miles or less, plus two more in nearby cities, which I haven't visited yet. Ok then when you move to that nitro heli you said you were going to buy you'll have the parts right there. Just make sure you buy one that your local hobby shops support, so when you got broken parts you have them right there. - Yeah, same here, even though Hobby-Lobby.com is in the U.S., I have to wait 3-4 days to get the parts, they are in Tennessee, if I remember well and I I'm in Florida, but it's certainly much less than waiting 2 weeks as you have to. Oh well, at least you get the parts, and then you have fun again. If I was you, when something breaks, I would order not one but two of that part, so next time it breaks again you'll have it right there without having to wait 2 weeks ago....and in the meantime order that same part again while you're using the one on the heli now... that way your waiting time for parts will be less painful.
I don't mind waiting 3-4 days to get the parts, I'm in no rush.
