Default RE: is this Tx a good one for future projects?

ORIGINAL: sky-pilot hello A.T I have a very very imporant question: can the Optic 6 or eclipse 7 use the 72mhz crystals from the E-flite Blade cp Tx and Rx 4n-1? I need to know this before I buy thanx alot
I have no access to any of those xtals for test purposes. you would need to order the system on the same frequency. It is unlikely that E-Flite crystals are cut to the measurements and high specifications required to operate Hitec (or any other brand) units at optimum performance. As per RC Groups sticky "what type of crystal do you need" Hitec crystals must be used in Hitec RX for optimum results. Futaba and other single conversion RX crystals may appear to work but with proven less range and glitching, especially noticeable in damp weather or wet ground. Local radio technician was surprised but ran a number of tests with result he is also now convinced that there is a significant difference in the crystals.
see also the crystal comparison chart from GWS and note regarding receivers under "Transmitter Crystals - Do not interchange - Berg Industries"
Much more regarding crystals is available under "Crystals, Oscilators & Piezo " on my web page.
