Yes, both are good value, especially with removable RF modules (except Optic Sport) which provide for easy change of current frequencies and adoption of future frequency changes e.g. 2.4 GHz. Refer to the manuals for more detail than that shown on your links. Further details available under "Radio Systems, Accessories, Alterations and FAQ" on my web page, or email me direct for spreadsheet "Eclipse vs Optic vs FF6 vs 9CAP vs RD600 vs JR652 vs JR3810 (8103)" .
Am using an Eclipse 7 for high end performance models and an Optic 6 to fly most of my everyday models (which range from small EP to large gas).
The Optic 6 is consideredf to be the easiest computer TX to program with easy to follow screen and, like the Eclipse 7, I do not have to change to my reading glasses. NB: A new version of the Optic 6 = a simplified model designated "Optic 6 Sport" is/will soon be in LHS.

Default RE: is this Tx a good one for future projects?

A.T: thanx for information!

I am pretty noob to Tx setups and mixing setup too but quite familiar with the aircrafts designs like planes and vtols( that use a lot of mix setup) so my question is if I can do mixing between servos and motors speeds for example if the both servos used as elvators and as ailerons and such mixings that are very common in vtol desings you know.. it is maybe a stupid question But is the optic 6 capaple of doing that without " external mixer"

I am a noob at this area as I said so thanx for taking your time

hello A.T I have a very very imporant question: can the Optic 6 or eclipse 7 use the 72mhz crystals from the E-flite Blade cp Tx and Rx 4n-1?

I need to know this before I buy

thanx alot

Sorry, to many unknown parameters. Appears you wish to mix multiple ESC. There are now many seeking additional mixes, especially for robotics, not dreamed of by the designers and even now used by to few to incorporate as a specific function. Tutorial page 12:
"PROGRAMMABLE MIXERS (PMIX1)
Programmable mixing is the ability to mix two channels together to perform a common task. This is an important feature to learn, as without the ability to mix channels, many of the advanced features on the Optic 6 cannot be performed. Your Optic 6 has two programmable mixing circuits, and each is a separate operation, although it is possible for one mixing circuit to affect another mixing circuit. Remember that when using a mixing circuit, you must always specify which channel is a MASTER channel, and which channel is a SLAVE channel. The Master channel is the control circuit that the Slave channel follows."
I will try various set ups over next few days - unless someone else has already tried and answers first. Your requirements may not be met by any TX under a 9-12ch system or a Marine ESC / Rudder Mixer .

I have no access to any of those xtals for test purposes. you would need to order the system on the same frequency. It is unlikely that E-Flite crystals are cut to the measurements and high specifications required to operate Hitec (or any other brand) units at optimum performance. As per RC Groups sticky "what type of crystal do you need" Hitec crystals must be used in Hitec RX for optimum results. Futaba and other single conversion RX crystals may appear to work but with proven less range and glitching, especially noticeable in damp weather or wet ground. Local radio technician was surprised but ran a number of tests with result he is also now convinced that there is a significant difference in the crystals.
see also the crystal comparison chart from GWS and note regarding receivers under "Transmitter Crystals - Do not interchange - Berg Industries"
Much more regarding crystals is available under "Crystals, Oscilators & Piezo " on my web page.

That brand is not sold locally, I have no access to any of their units for testing. Suggest you ask same question at E-Flite Helicopter forum where other E-Flite users may assist.

Definately not the Optic 6. The Optic 6 is a very poor quality TX which is unreliable and completely dies. I have about 2 hours on my Optic 6 and it has been sent back to the manufacturer twice for service due to the quality.
STEER CLEAR OF THIS RADIO!!!
